This 2 door, 4 service bay shop affords us room to service 4 vehicles simultaneously with enough leftover shopspace for fabricating application specific bumpers, rock-sliders, roof racks, and more!

Welcome to Black Widow Off-Road (BWOR). You may be wondering if we have a fascination for scary spiders? The answer is no. President / CEO Erik Schranz announces the birth of Black Widow Off-Road has finally arrived! Black Widow is the name that chose me when I was a very impressionable young man of eight years. In 1978 my dad was promoted with his job at IBM. With the promotion came a transfer from San Jose, Ca. to Boulder, Co. Almost immediately after moving to Denver my dad decided that driving in the snow would be much easier with a 4WD. We found ourselves at a Ford dealership very shortly after our relocation. I still vividly remember my dad walking around this big black brand new 1978 Ford F250 Ranger on the dealer lot. He kept circling and circling like a shark and I had to wait in the car!. Well, needless to say that big black truck ended up coming home with us. Soon thereafter I overheard my dad telling my uncle (who was drooling on the brand new Ford) that he was going to paint a red hourglass on the hood of the truck and name her the Black Widow. 
Since that fateful day, for nearly 30 years now, I have been planning, educating myself, and becoming the expert I would need to be to successfully launch and run my own company. Today is the culmination of all that planning, execution, and endless late night delusions of Grandeur! During my first year in Colorado, two very important milestones in my life became sharply within my focus. 1. I was going to drive the Black Widow someday, and 2. 
Master fabricator / Shop Manager - Sean. Spending his entire life working in his dad fabrication shop had Sean learning how to weld at 6 years old. Sean has built over 120 custom Sandrail / Trail trucks / and rock buggies in his lifetime so far! Sean graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Utah. Sean bolstered his lifetime of practical experience in custom fabrication and bachelor's degree by attending Wyotech for trade specific training. Sean has a myriad of craftsmen level skillsets making him a truly unique and highly talented fabricator / designer. With 5 years experience working as an ASE certified technician installing components and servicing off-road vehicles. Sean decided to put his education to work and attack the more challenging and rewarding obstacle of custom fabrication. As lead designer, shop manager, and technician, Sean wears many hats. 
Mike (Bear) is the General Sales Manager responsible for the retail store as well as setting up dealership accounts. Growing up in Utah, Bear has a deep seeded love for the many landscapes Utah has to offer. Bear is the current President of
